A fuel tank semi

Jeremiah built this fuel tanker truck using pieces from a lego airplane set. I liked it so much that I decided to build a fuel tanker truck, too.

The inside of the this semi has sleeping quarters for the driver, just behind the drivers seat. I modeled it after a picture in a library book on tractor trailers that David and I checked out for Jeremiah. The trailer is just like the one Jeremiah built.

More trains

So this is the coal car that so far has been absent from all of my trains. In reality, it's black and dark grey, not black and white. It is filled with black lego "coal."
Our little train station comes complete with indoor and outdoor ticket counters and waiting areas. One of the guys out front is a gold miner, the other an old fashioned businessman, or maybe a professor.

Freight Train

These train cars are inspired by a Walthers catalog we received in the mail. I also used train parts from the Legos Christmas train set. The wheels at the front of this locomotive are part of a motor that runs on Lego tracks. At the back of the engine is a magnet, so it can pull the other cars.

This cattle car may not look too impressive, but it took quite a while to make! The door (on the left side in the above image) slides open and closed.

The Hopper Car: We filled this grain hauling freight car with little legos.

Some little things

Here are some little lego creations, quick and easy to make. Personally, I loved the monster truck with steer horns, although it didn't go over as well as I had hoped with Jeremiah. At least he enjoyed driving the truck around after he took off the horns and flames.

Last week, Jeremiah watched the beginning of "Growing Up Lion" (I think on Animal Planet) and ever since, he has been enamored by the kitty crates used to transport the lion cubs to a rescue facility. He has been building all kinds of "kitten cages" out of legos. He tells me that some of them have different rooms- bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, etc. Some of them have heaters to keep the kitties nice and warm. All of them are made with wheels, lots of fences, and imagination.

Carnival Swings

This Carnival swing-set was lots of fun to make. I like that it really spins around!

Passenger Train

Jeremiah loves the Polar Express and trains in general. The train below was inspired by a coveted Christmas train kit on the cover of a holiday Lego's catalog. Jeremiah now has the real deal, compliments of Papa.

Come, see what we've built

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I am so glad you stopped by so I can show off some creations my son and I have made.

This little design is supposed to be a self-portrait, even though I don't really look like that.

Jeremiah loves anything with wheels or a motor, so we build lots of cars, trucks, trains, and planes. Here is a tractor I built, and one built by Jeremiah.

Here is a backhoe-loader.
