After watching Monster's Inc, Jeremiah built this closet door, complete with canisters to collect screams. I like that he included the control panel and door light, too.

Wagon

Jeremiah and I built this wagon together. Unfortunately, the other two pictures came out blurry. The handle swivels up and down and side to side, like a real wagon handle does. The window and window lock on the back were Jeremiah's idea. He enjoys transporting stuff.

Unfortunately, this chair didn't hold Jeremiah's weight for all that long. It looks fun, though.

A hotel or a library, depending on who you ask

So, Jeremiah has been wanting me to build him a house for about forever, so I built one. While building it, I decided it makes a good hotel. The room at the top would be for the owner, the third floor would be rooms, the second floor would the restaurant, and the first floor would be the lobby. Jeremiah gathered up a bunch of lego books, built a shelf and made this building into a library.

Bird Feeder

Some of you may know that I used to work at Wild Birds Unlimited. WBU inspired this piece. The feeder holds little lego "seeds." One of the roof flaps lifts up to load the feeder. The seeds spill out of a gap at the bottom collecting in the tray. You can see Jeremiah's little bird house in the background.

Bugs

These bugs are inspired by a snail in a legoland book and a suggestion by David.
They may be a little dorky, but I definitely have a soft spot for bugs.

Ferris Wheel

We have our local fair and expo this week, so in celebration of the carnival festivities I built this ferris wheel. The wheel does spin, the baskets remain upright, and the doors open and close. Jeremiah and I had some fun giving different lego people and animals rides. I also made carnival swings- check them out on my March 8th posting

A toilet and DNA

Jeremiah and I watched "Dirty Jobs" a while back. The guy was cleaning out the nastiest toilet I have ever seen. Jeremiah asked me to build a toilet for him, so I built this. The handle is weighted so the it returns to a horizontal position after being flushed.
This DNA is for you, David! (David's a fan of molecular biology.)

Kid's Stuff

This playground is partly inspired by current playgrounds, but includes a merry-go-round (the red thing) that really spins around. The blue and yellow thing is a balance beam, the black and silver thing in the front is a little slide. The swings really swing, and the baby swing has a safety bar that opens and closes.

When my sister and I were little, we played with legos. We often built these little ponies with wings and their duck friends. Looking back, I see some care bears or rainbow bright influence. We spent a lot of time playing pretend.

Bowling Alley

Every now and again, David, Jeremiah and I go bowling. I love to bowl, but I always need bumpers. Jeremiah is pretty good (he bowls more strikes than I do), even though he's still too little to bowl a whole game. After the last time we went bowling, Jeremiah wanted to build a bowling alley, so we did. He and I built the lanes, complete with gutters (no bumpers, though!). David built the thingy that sweeps away all the pins you've missed before setting up the lane for the next turn. It really swings back and forth and sweeps away the pins. We used legos soccer balls or marbles for the bowling balls.

Carnival Swings

This Carnival swing-set was lots of fun to make. I like that it really spins around!
